I dunno about that, but at least it probably means that DC will finally give the MM their own book again. Apart from the deservedly hated miniseries from 1993, there hasn’t been a Metal Men comic since the '70s, and their subsequent appearances in other titles have been mostly pretty marginal.

I sure hope, for the fans here, that they do a better job this time with it, than they did in 1993. I got that during my comics period, and, well… umm… egads. It’s really my only exposure to the franchise, and I sure hope the classic stories were better.
Well, it was the silver age, so they were quite silly. (One issue’s cover had a rare two-panel format. First panel had some evil giant robot threatening to “Reduce you all to a pile of bolts!”…second panel showed the Metal Men defiantly shouting in unison: “Nuts!!!”) One thing that makes me so fond of the old Metal Men, and their contemporary Metamorpho, is the way the writers kept inserting chemistry facts into the dialogue (“G-g-gosh, m-m-my melting point is o-only 231.9° C!” “Oh yeah, ya little pipsqueak, well I’m the only metal that is liquid at room temperature!”). I always figured it was all propaganda to try to get the kids interested in careers in science so we could beat the Russkies in the space race.
