About 11pm BST. And I missed it… or at least I don’t think it was even visible this far south, anyway.

My guess is Sontarans.
Dumbest Twitter comment so far: “Nice of Nasa to give us a warning about that meteor, wasn’t it?” Er, that would be a little chunk of rock about the size of a tennis ball, probably smaller.
So…any more news? Did anything make it to the ground?
There are reports that it might have been a piece of space junk burning up, as it moved across the sky fairly slowly.
Yeah, looks like a bit of scrap metal from Florida
A fireball? Nah, must be Martian. Hopefully they haven’t invented antibiotics yet.
That, and the budget for finding the really dangerous space rocks is only about a tenth of what it’d need to be to do the job properly. You want NASA to warn you about meteors, you need to actually pony up the cash.
I was lucky enough to catch sight of a large meteor that blazed across the North Texas sky several months ago. It was big and bright, yellow and green-blue. It was really an amazing sight. I’ve seen plenty of shooting stars that make thin streaks for a few seconds, but this was so much bigger and more impressive.
