Of course, didn’t you know ? Governments are desperate for revenues. Anything for a buck. Of course, with a license, you will have to have a meteorite hunting season, and fines if you bag one out of season.
I saw it!
Or at least the flash. It crashed near the alberta, saskatchewan border very close to my town apparently. Look at my hometown in the corner. God missed I say! I think he was trying to smite my shit hole home.
When I first read the thread title, my thought was, “Canadian meteors got unions!? What the hell!?”
It’s our socialist government. Next we’ll be organizing the pro-gravity movement.
The Sudbury Basin. is the oval shaped depression visible south and west of the lake in this picture. The crater was initially 9 miles deep but today it looks like a valley. Not real easy to see, but it’s about 5 times wider than the lake. I’m sure after the lava cooled it did fill with water, but most of it has since filled with sediment. Fortunately, all that happened a loooong time ago. The reason Sudbury looks bare is because it’s part of the Canadian Shield, which is a mashup of really old rocks with most of the topsoil scraped off during the ice ages.
Rocks are cool.
Buzzard Coulee? I thought I was familiar with all the goofy obscure placenames in this province.
