MI GOP leaders meeting with Trump

Looks like I misquoted Mr. Van Langevelde (and John Adams).

The correct Adams quote is that we [as a republic] have “A government of laws, and not of men.”

Voting to “abstain” was the most cowardly option available to GOP board member Norman Shinkle, and it will avail him nothing. The Trumpers will be enraged that he didn’t vote “no”, and nobody will credit him for doing the right thing under difficult circumstances.

Yeah, but he will go through the rest of his life with that name, like something from a terrible work of fiction.

Exactly this. They’re all doing this “hold me back” routine in the hopes that someone else can fix their problem and that they can act like the actual adults victimized them. Some day all of these cowards are going to have to realize that “stop the steal” crowd is not worth pandering to.

He gets seated next to Bob Mueller henceforth.

“Ignominy, party of two ??”

Voting “no” was pushing it. He was wise to avoid the vote instead of voting no. If charged with a felony, he’d have to produce evidence for why he voted no and…there is none.

I disagree with this. No one should get even a smidgen of credit or kudos for doing their freaking job and voting “yes.” Easy as pie. Nothing “difficult” about it whatsoever.

To coin a phrase, under the circumstances he Shinkled his duty.
