Mia Love: Is there a better election story?

I sorta thought IMHO was for just expressing opinions.

I’m not that interested in debating here.

But in general, if we want to get to a color blind society, we need more people of color representing the red side of the aisle and more people without color representing the blue side…well, I guess the blue side has plenty of people without color, but at least they pretend to represent people of color enough to garner votes from people of color at election time.

So I’d like to thank Mia Love for running and for being willing to step outside of the box that the blue side of the aisle creates as a default assumption if you are black.

A Republican party that is small-government (Federally) and looks like a cross section of America is a permanent winner. Since I want small Federal government, I’d like to thank Mia for starting to make Republicans look more like an American cross section.

Find me a black small-government smart woman running for President and I’ll find you your next President.

Although Mia needs about 2 more years before she can match Mr Obama’s impressive resume when he first ran.

I agree about Rand Paul. He’s a reasonable guy and I think he gets unfairly blasted by the left. I’d say the same about Paul Ryan. However, the notable black conservatives you mentioned, with the exception of Condoleeza Rice, have been just as hostile to blacks as you say blacks have been to them.

Sure, sure. Absolutely.

Dr. Sowell is even skeptical of the whole “driving while black” complaint so often mentioned here on the SDMB.

I don’t mean to say that their politics are all equivalent, except to the degree that when they open their mouths, I generally wish the Republican party wasn’t implicated.

I think it’s impressive she beat the incumbent in the primary but you could have put my name on the final ballot with an R next to it and I’d have won too. And nobody would vote for me on purpose.

Have you held this Mia Love view a long time?

This my favorite election story:

Actually, when mention was made of “the Pauls”, I was thinking about Ron and Rand Paul, not Paul Ryan. But that doesn’t change much. Postulating about the race baiting Jackson/Sharpton and their ilk creating a culture of victimhood and dependency is hostile to blacks? I disagree.
