MIAMI VICE - the Movie ----- due out Summer '06

MIAMI VICE

!!!

Oh my god! I can hardly wait…

Yes, I’m an 80s junky. I WAS the 80s.

;j

Does that mean pastels are coming back in style?

Apparently, Hollywood is in a major slump. Ticket sales to the young male demographic have been sliding for years. Motion picture execs need to find a why to appeal to them that overcomes the attraction of video games. And a remake of an Eighties buddy cop TV drama is all they can come up with? I watched and loved Miami Vice as much as the next guy, but what the hell?!? Is there no creativity left in Hollywood? Must everything be a remake or, so blatently derivitive? No wonder I don’t go to the movies anymore.

Wait til you see my hair!

Wow, Gong Li is in it-- now I’m really stoked!

Considering that the video game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, was hugely popular on both console games and the PC platforms, I would say that maybe they are targetting that demographic. Vice City was set in the Miami Vice era Florida, complete with pastels and cheesy 80’s music.

Our car is an extra in the movie. Some of the scenes, set in Cuba, were filmed in the Dominican Republic a couple of months ago. See here for some of the cars being featured, including ours,, and a photo from the set. .

Cool.

So who’s playing the cryogenically frozen reggae singer?

Cher

SWEET!! I was just watching a Miami Vice marathon the other day. God those shows are cheesy now some 20 years later. But in a good way! I’m a big fan of Michael Mann movies; I’m glad to see he’s doing this one. If nothing else, the soundtrack should rawk!

Does this mean will finally be able to see Don Johnson beat a hooker to death with a baseball bat?

Again?

I’m concerned that the United States is depleting its reserve of un-remade old TV shows. We might have to drill in Alaska for old shows soon.

Northern Exposure - The Movie ?

How do you access the trailer? You have to go to Bacardi’s website (since they’re sponsoring the movie), but I don’t see a link.

You can watch one here: http://www.miamivice.com/main.html

Thanks. I think.
