Despite myself I’m pretty surprised! I figured his health was poor but you never knew what to expect with his bizarre life. As much as I’m not a big fan of dance music, his best stuff really was good - Billie Jean especially. But the people who are still in love with him and are now tearing their hair and weeping - that I don’t get at all.
He’s become a really popular Halloween costume the last few years. That’s going to explode this year. Half of the city is probably going to be red suit Michael Jackson.

I hate to say it, since he’s well, dead, but I have said for years that when Jacko dies we’ll hear all kinds of wierd ass crap about him. Its coming, folks. Now I won’t say if any of it will be true, but I can see skeletons coming out of closets.
I hate to admit it, but I had a few Jacko jokes lined up for my comic strip on Comics Sherpa.Now I can’t use them, really. Crap, I just inked 'em too. They wouldn’t be posted until August at the earliest, but still I wouldn’t feel right.
That being said, he was a talented entertainer.

MTV is at least doing the right thing and suspending normal programming in favor Michael Jackson videos and performances.
You can say what you will about the man, but nothing would get everyone in a packed bar to bob their heads in appreciation like a classic MJ song.

I remember waiting by the TV with the kids the day MTV premiered the Thriller video. Couldn’t get enough. He was an exceptional talent.
There are plenty of folks that don’t like MJ’s music, so don’t be too sure.
I don’t hate his music but after the heyday of “Thriller” (which I was lukewarm about really) I got sick of him. I used to tell my friends in 1984 that MJ would probably win the presidential election since I heard more about him than I did of Ronald Reagan. There was a guy that friggin’ dressed like him every day when I was in college.
Personally, I think he was a talented man, but that he had serious problems. He was easy to be made the butt of jokes, but we cannot deny that he was a success. I guess I can say that the world has been made a little less interesting with his passing.
I’m not ghoulish enough to look forward to seeing the fallout from what secrets may come out. But I don’t think they’ll be boring.

Why won’t CNN confirm his death? They’re still reporting the news as Michael Jackson dead “according to media reports”.
Wow, I’m sad. Mock me if you must, but Michael Jackson made a real impact on my life, something I just posted about in my blog.
I hope that wherever he is, he can finally be at peace with himself, as I know he was a troubled man. Hopefully he can see the out pouring of love for him going on across the world right now, as his contribution wont soon be forgotten.
