This is Michael’s grandfather, who supposedly was very light and had green eyes. Joe, as you said, has blue eyes.
Here is a photo of the Jackson family on the set of the 2300 Jackson Street video. While there is a range in skin colors, in general, they are hardly a dark group of people. To me, it’s not terribly surprising if someone with that genetic lineage procreated with an incredibly white blonde woman that the kids would come out like his look.
Supposedly, Blanket’s mother is a Hispanic surrogate, which would explain the difference in his look.
There was an excellent blog post that did side by side breakdowns of young Michael next to his kids. Naturally, I can’t find it, but I’ve posted it on the board before. Curses. Anyway, it literally does like, facial splits of 5 year old blanket and 5 year old Michael, etc. Pretty interesting stuff.
I find it funny that people think that mixed kids automatically have kinky hair, deep tans, and wide noses. I knew a girl in high school who was half white and half black-- her dad was super dark black. The girl? She literally looked like Snow White. Porcelain skin. Ice blue eyes. Black colored hair that was thick but straight. And that really was her dad-- he laughed that he had insisted on a DNA test and everything. Genetics are funny like that. I’ve known plenty of mixed kids who look like the Jackson kids and, of course, there are all the celebrities linked upthread. Rashida Jones isn’t exactly obviously black.
Yeah, that’s why you have the entire concept of “passing,” where a half-black, half-white person looks white enough could just tell people they’re white and get around the discrimination laws.
That’s also why the “one drop rule” was invented. No matter how white you looked, you were still black if any one of your ancestors was black.
Hell, I’m black and Mexican and when people don’t give up in confusion they say I look middle-eastern.
I had a friend at school, she had straight hair, caucasian body type, and we thought she was caucasian through and through. Very very pretty. We were surprised when we saw a picture of her Grandmother, a beautiful full blooded African woman from Guana. There appeared to be little or no trace of African features at all, until we realized why she was so beautiful. Her smile was gorgeous with beautiful teeth, her hair a deep jet black, freckles across the ridge of her nose, and then she would tan to the deepest golden. .
I can’t believe that only her parentage is being questioned! 13 years old! That is what is impressive/ridiculous. Ellen is tall: 5’7" (MJ was ~5’10/11"), but Paris seems to be quite a bit taller than Ellen. I know that teen girls are hard to place in age, but I wouldn’t put Paris’s age and height a day under 16 and that’s being conservative! The three “kids” on Modern family are all 13 for comparison. Chloe Moretz is 14. Elle Fanning is 13. Paris (or at least this version of her) is not 13.
The eldest son is named Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, but his nickname has always been Prince (which was also the name of one of Michael’s grandfathers, I think). When the younger one was born, he was named Prince Michael Jackson, but- since his older brother goes by Prince-- his nickname became Blanket.
Per the Jackson family, apparently they have always said (since they were kids) that they would “blanket someone with love.” Like, “Mother is sad, let’s blanket her with love.” The Jacksons say that over time, “blanket” became sort of family short hand for “love.” So, more or less, the kid’s nickname is the family’s equivalent of love.
There are these things: they are called high heels (Ellen never wears them). My guess is that the 13 year old girl who wanted to look pretty on TV probably put on some heels.
You must be like my dad— I’m 25 and haven’t grown an inch since I was a young teen, but every time I wear heels, he earnestly asks me if I’ve grown.
No, “Blanket” is her younger half-brother’s nickname. His real name is Prince Jackson.
There must be some confusion over names. Michael Jackson’s oldest son is named Michael Jackson Jr and apparently his nickname was “Prince”. Given that, it seems strange he decided to name his second son Prince.
Let’s be real: given the rest of the names of the Jackson cousins (Jafaar, Jermajesty), using granda’s name more than once is hardly all that strange :p:D
Jackson’s old friend, British child star Mark Lester (best known for Oliver), claimed- sorta kinda, then sorta kinda retracted- that he might be Paris Jackson’s biological father through a sperm donation. He mentioned resemblances between his own daughter and Paris. Pics.
That’s one of many side by sides they do. There are even ones where they super-impose one picture of the other, to show exactly how alike their features are.
And I agree with you. Mark Lester’s daughter looks like Paris only if you think all white people look alike. In which case, I also look just like Paris Jackson and may, in fact, be a lost Jackson child. This is a photo of Paris holding hands with Mark Lester’s daughter. Notice their hands and how much darker skinned Paris’ is than Lester’s incredibly white daughter.
I was reading something earlier (which searching for that side by side site) that talked about the media Photoshopping Michael’s kids to look whiter than they are throughout their entire lives. One example is this photo of little Paris and this more recent photo of preteen Paris. (That last one shows the original shot, then how it was reported on two different sights. The whitest looking one is from MediaTakeOut, which is a notoriously unscrupulous gossip blog of the worst variety-- they regularly doctor stuff).
Whoa! It didn’t even occur to me they would doctor the skin colour of the kids, even though I know they made Michael look worse by whitening (yes) his skin and removing shading. This occurred during the trial when media bashing of Michael was at its height.
Out of curiosity, why do people feel Michael Jackson isn’t the biological father of his children? He admitted using artificial insemination. Even if he was a virgin, a homosexual, or a pedophile, there was nothing keeping him from providing a sperm sample.
I think the race discussion is a tad beside the point just because even if the girl was obviously half black I wouldn’t believe she was MJ’s. That’s because MJ was completely nuts and I can’t imagine that he had any biological children through any means.
Did anyone watch the interview? It was incredibly awkward.
I shuddered when his daughter said she wanted to be just like daddy.
Why anyone would want to be hunted by the paparazzi night and day is beyond me. Elvis and Michael both had too much fame. They couldn’t go anywhere or do anything public. Plus Michael was batshit crazy. He’s no one I want to grow up like.
