Michael Lewis has a new book out called “The Blidn Side: Evolution of a Game”. Last week I read excerpts from it that had been reprinted in SI and in the NYTimes Magazine. About halfway though that one, I said, “why am I reading this? I’m going to buy the book.”
Essentially, it tracks the rise in stature of the left tackle position in professional football (the man who protects the blind side), and it’s presented through the story of a high school kid about 6’5", 350 who came from nowhere to be regarded as possibly the next Orlando Pace/Jonathon Ogden.
I’m only 1/3 of the way through it so far, but if you’re a Michael Lewis fan, you don’t need to wait for my review.
If you’ve only been exposed to Moneyball, I also recommend other things from him, particuarly “Liars Poker” and “The New New Thing”.
Just thought someone might want a heads-up if they hadn’t heard of this release yet.
