Michelle Wie leads Q-school - there IS a Santa!

She’s listed as 6 foot one. While that’s very tall for a woman, that’s hardly almost seven feet tall. By that standard, I’m almost a millionaire.

She shot 74 last day. A little weak in the finish but she can play again.

Heres Rawson.

That is an entirely different pointy than claiming that she is nearly seven feet tall, which is patently bullshit.

Same thing. she was 6 ft at 14.

This does not beat my patented triple-whoosh, but it is nevertheless an excellent try.

And apparently she’s 6’ 1" now. I don’t think her height changed all that much in the past few years.

For a lot of young phenoms, the one final, critical step in unlocking their true potential is a thorough butt-kicking. Show them that they’re not special, nobody owes them anything, and they can fail and fall on their faces and stink up the joint just like everyone else. Shaquille O’Neal, Andre Agassi, Peyton Manning, and to a somewhat lesser extent Phil Mickelson all had to go through that.

The Michelle Wie of 2007 was a circus prop, completely unfocused and screwing around. And she got clobbered. She got clobbered more than one person should be able to be clobbered.

But here’s the thing…it’s one season. She’s still young. And she avoided the two colossal traps that would’ve really destroyed her career, breaking the law and suffering needless injuries due to lack of conditioning.

Now she’s seen just about everything that can possibly go wrong, she’s humble, she’s focused, and her body is intact. Don’t be surprised if this turns into a breakout year. Even if it’s just a pretty good year, that’s good enough for a start.

Are you fucking with me? It’s not the same thing. She’s six feet one today. Nearly a foot shy of the seven feet you claim. I have no idea what you’re on about, but it’s pointless and stupid to keep spouting this bullshit.

I gave you a picture what more can I do.
By the way she did have a wrist injury.

you linked to a picture with her in the foreground and a bunch of Asian men in the background, none of which is Yao Ming. Said picture proving fuck-all about how tall she is. What you can do is either provide evidence for your claim, or give it up.

Holy crap, that woman is hot! Does she actually play golf in a skirt occasionally just to drive men mad?

She was clearly at least 2 or 3 feet taller than the men in the picture.

http://sports.webshots.com/photo/2799228840054908408gOjqas Heres Michelle congratulating the members of the Chinese Olympic basketball ball team. Note how small they look to her towering frame.

Dude, she’s 6’ 1", get over it.

From that picture, she looks almost 8 feet tall. Growth spurt, indeed.

Even at 6’1" she can generate a ton of clubhead speed. You should hear the whoosh the club makes when she swings.

Off topic - On the men’s side, Harrison Frazar is lapping the field. He shot a 59 on Saturday and is -7 today. He’s 10 shots clear of second place. Some other former tour members are doing well also. David Berganio, who grew up in poverty in San Diego, is also seven under today and he’s in at T8. Notah Begay, a native American from New Mexico and Tiger Wood’s teammate at Stanford, has just birdied three in a row to go from two shots out to one shot below the cut line.

Some guys who missed the cut are tour winners Carlos Franco and Robert Gamez, Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey, and Kevin Stadler, who was in the hunt at ten under until today when he shot 82.

Michelle Wie’s biggest problem has been and always will be that she was introduced to the world as the female version of Tiger Woods, with all the accompanying hype, which she just hasn’t been able to live up to.

The LPGA needed a shot in the arm, some media attention and such…they latched onto Wie as the next phenom, and she hasn’t lived up to those created expectations.

I hope she does well though.

The guy in front looks about the same size as her. The people in back are probably about the same size as well. Ever hear of perspective? Here’s a picture of her and her coach, standing on about the same plane. Here’s here with some other folk. (Both 2008 photos)

Here’s one with her and LeBron James (1997 photo). Lebron is 6’8". She’s wearing pretty big heels (about 4") I’d guess look for yourself.

She’s 6’1" to 6"2.

edit: Crap, if those links don’t work, here is the search link for LeBron and Michelle Wie.
