Microsoft was recently added to the Dow Jones industrial average, as I’m sure you all know. Because of the (long overdue) legal decision against them, they have mostly depressed the average. My question is: if Microsoft loses one point, how much does DJIA lose?
Approximately 3 points. Last I saw, the divisor was around 1/3rd, though that information is a bit old.

About 5 points. As of this morning, the Dow’s divisor is .20435952. FWIIW, the DJIA is a price-weighted average, so a one-point move in any of the stocks moves the average the same amount.
