Microwaving things without Microwave instructions.

Has anyone got much experience of this?

I have some cheese and onion rolls that don’t have microwave instructions. They are not very appetising but I am tempted to microwave them to make them more palateable.
I suppose there’s no harm in trying, which I will do now, but I’d still like to hear from people for future reference.

To make rolls softer in the microwave, sprinkle some water on them and wrap them in a paper towel or plastic wrap. Heat for 10-20 seconds.
BTW, I’ve never used the instructions.

I mean pastry rolls (like sausage rolls but with cheese and onion instead of sausage meat) so If anything I’d want them crispier.

I microwaved them and as expected they’ve gone quite limp and soft, but the taste, well, let’s just say I’m not going to assume lack of Microwave instructions mean the thing can’t be microwaved in future.
(exept cutlery  )

Perhaps you could try what Stouffer’s calls “micro-bake”.

Essentially you pre-cook the item in the microwave and finish it off in the oven to “crisp” it up.
