Middle-aged fat broad gleefully shaves head. Feels like the proverbial million bucks.

I felt the same way liberation when I threw away my last bra.

I’ve done the shaved head thing thing three times in my life and, I gotta agree, majorly liberating. Good on ya!

I like it. I personally think short hair on heavier women is quite flattering; you look good.

I’m a long-haired girl, myself. Cut it short once in 5th grade, looked hideous, and haven’t made that mistake again. I wish I could look good in a crew cut, though, it would be much cooler.

Renee, you can wear a crew. You just aren’t used to the idea. Take a look at women with short hair. Take a look at the funky earrings they wear.

Stoid, it look wonderfully cool and you look like a woman who knows what she wants. Rock it.

Like it!

My husband would FREAK. I honestly really love my long hair, all I have to do is wash it and let it dry and it looks great. I remain convinced that I don’t have the right bone structure for short hair. But I love it on other women.

My ex-husband disliked short hair on women. When we split up, one of the first things I did was cut my hair extremely short. If you’re worried about how your bone structure looks with short hair though, I think you’re missing Stoid’s point.

True. Sorry to bring myself into this. I think cutting it all off is awesome; really. And I think it looks great on you, **Stoid. **

Thanks for all the kind words… I am pleased its not as harsh as I feared.

I was always good at “doing” my hair, making it look full and sexy and fatootzed. But I havent any reason to for a long time… Month or so ago I was checking makng flat iron waves and someother tools for fatootzing and it ended up looking great, exxpt…not on my face! I was taken aback by how inappropriate and NOT flattering it was, rather the opposite. I could imagine someone seeing my lush waves drom the back and pulling back in horror whe I turn around…not that I am a troll, but my face looked weird and kinda pathetic nestled in an explosioin of fuck-me waves. Just wrong… And had forgotten that consciously when I made my decision. But clearly it was part of the DNA Man im falling asleep typing this…literally…

Well, g’night. Your new 'do fits you, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that you look so happy and proud.

I worry about that too. Someday, I’m gonna cut off all my hair. Not now, not yet, but someday.

Thanks for posting the picture, it looks great.

Well, first, I like it.

Second, however, I think you need a new blade in your razor… you said you shaved… that ain’t shaved.

Looks good! I’m a guy. I went from long ponytail to glassy-smooth a few years ago. It was awesome, but too much work (I was shaving twice a day) so mine is like yours now.

Amusing that Sigourney Weaver was the first answer you gave on that show (she shaved her head in Alien3).

I like it but agree it’s dying for some eye-catching hair dye designs

Love it! I think it looks great on you!

Had mine that short just a few years ago - buzzed to a 3 on the back and sides and finger length on the top. My morning routine was a lot simpler. I grew it out over the last few years and now I struggle with the want, need and desire to chop it off every day. I like my long hair, but I also have come to realize though that a lot of the hairstyles I am drawn to are for younger women… at least in my opinion. Which is funny, because with short hair, I like to get funky with it. I dye it different colors, spike it up and do crazy stuff with sculpting gel.

I’ll eventually go back to short - your pictures tempt me a bit too much…

Go for it! And you have reminded me about spikiness… my friend wants me to leave it alone for at least 8 weeks and I wasn’t going to but now I find myself thinking about the joys of gel…

I posted a “memorial” photo on the tumbler, a shot that represents my hair at the pinnacle of it’s purpose in my life (sexual decoration) with a little eulogy… I’m having so much fun with this.

This has even added to my relationship with my pit bull…she likes to wake me up in the morning by lying on my head, doing very hard nuzzles into my face and head with her hard head, and she kind rolls in me the way dogs roll around on the ground and I love it. But it would almost always include or end with her pulling out some hair or otherwise lying on it or in some way making me uncomfortable with her thrashing about on my head in my hair. Well… today we did that and it was pure fun and no hair pulling!

Now the only thing still bugging on the hair front is my gray eyebrows. The fact of the gray doesn’t bother me in itself, it’s just that it makes them look… well, really the left one look… like it’s only half a brow. Now that I’m going with the silver head, it might not be so odd for me to keep them colored. I’ll have to experiment….

I typically dyed my hair a dark red, and since I’m a strawberry blonde naturally, it means having to do my eyebrows as well, otherwise I have none to speak of. But I found out the hard way not to dye them the same color as my hair… ::shudders at the memory:: I keep a separate bottle of light brown for my eyebrows.

Nor should you dye them if you have to be out in public immediately afterwards. See Groucho Marx. (at least for me as I can’t seem to keep the dye off my skin very well.)

Dying my hair is one of the things I really miss, but I refuse to pay $80 to $120 every few months to keep up with my roots. When your hair is short - it’s not a problem.

Congrats! I agree that spiky would be even cooler, but this is great!

For the first three decades of my life I spent an hour per day on my hair (except for a short, horrible experience with the “Dorothy Hamill”) ::shudder:: Between the shampooing, rinsing, conditioning, drying and curling it was never less than that for me to get out of the house.

When I finally cut it off (which looks better IMHO) I did the calculation and found that one hour per day translates to Two weeks per year. Two weeks I was wasting on this crap I didn’t even like!
Towwannnnnnnnddaaaaaaa!

LOL!
