I have heard that a ring worn on a woman’s left middle finger is a message of availability.
Any one out there know whether there is any truth to that?
What about other rings (excluding wedding of course).
Thanks!

I fear somebody’s been telling you stories…

I’ve never heard that and I certainly hope it is not true, as I wear my promise ring on my left middle finger.
Thanks for the responses - it seems I have been misinformed.
Either that or it was my own wishful thinking for some
easy to recognize sign - life would be so much easier if
it were indeed that simple!
It makes sense doesn’t it: if one wears a wedding ring on one finger to show commitment, why not have a convention of wearing a ring on a different finger as an “availability” ring?
I wear my wedding ring on my left middle finger. A few years ago, I had to have my original wedding band cut off. I was working in construction, and was developing a callous under it that would split and become painful.
Recently my wife bought me another ring to replace it. It’s a little too big for the traditional finger, and it felt awkward to wear it on that finger, but it fits perfectly on my middle finger. I like it. It’s unique.
And hey, maybe it’ll get me some babes.
i know a lot of girls who wear irish wedding rings called “culodas” (i have no idea how you really spell it) anyways…how literally a girl takes it varies, but for the most part, if the heart part of the ring is upside down, it means that her heart has not been taken by someone. This might help you out a little!
That’s the Claddagh ring. I think the story is that if a girl finds someone she turns the ring around so the heart is facing her, otherwise she wears it so the heart is facing others (and by facing, I of course mean, the right way up)
(I think)
