Middle Tennessee is Washing Away

My brother recently moved from the 'Boro to Bradyville. Haven’t heard from him in a bit. Anybody know if either M’boro or Bradyville were in the storm path/flood zone?

Look at the TN map.

If it’s in TN, it’s got flooding.

Things are dry in my corner of Tennessee.

The 'Boro is just five miles down the road from where I was last night. Not as hard hit as south Nashville, but it still got a lot of water.

My facility is closed today for the weather, so no work. In the thirty-something years that I’ve been in the workforce, I’ve been off for snow, tornados and extreme cold, but this is the first time ever for rain. :stuck_out_tongue:

Stay dry!

Check the link in post #15 for a map of real-time flood gages. You can click on a gage or area and find out the flooding conditions.

My husband just got called in because the state prison is flooding and without power.
Gallatin isn’t as bad as most places but our back fence just floated away. Thankfully, the house is on a hill.

I’m wondering if I can drive to work Monday.

I’ve been watching some of the reports from Tennessee. Y’all stay safe especially you folks in the middle part.

Bosda keep a close watch re weather and driving conditions. If they’re saying don’t risk it, then don’t please. I’ve been through it all down here in south GA and have seen normally high (for down here) and dry places covered in water. Just remember it really is not safe to drive through water covering the road. There really is no way to judge how deep it is.

Everybody stay safe!

I work in LaVergne, which is a disaster area, I think. I don’t know if I’m expected in.

My front field is flooded, but I have plenty of higher ground for the horses. My mare is in Eagleville and they can’t get to the barn by truk, but can get to it on foot and she’s safe inside.

And I can’t watch the Amazing Race because of weather coverage!

St.G, I understand that flooding is especially harmful to horses, who shouldn’t stand around in water for long periods of time. It’s good to hear yours are safe.

Glad the critters are safe, StG!

Don’t risk going to work tomorrow if you have any doubts. According to Channel 4, I-24 is shut down again from Almaville Rd. on west. Train tracks have buckled here in Lebanon and the Music City Star won’t run tomorrow. I haven’t heard anything for a few hours about our CSX trestle they were trying to save.

Fun day here in Smyrna. And yes, it’s still raining right now.

Our neighborhood was very lucky, we didn’t get any flooded streets or yards that I could see. Just a ton of rain. Set one day rainfall records for Nashville. It’s already the wettest May in history for us, and it’s the 2nd.

Just hearing a levee is leaking in Metrocenter, on Mainstream Dr. Which is where my company is, and our data center. Metrocenter is being evacuated.

I work at Nashville International, & I doubt that I can even get there.

When you say Blackman, do you mean the Crieve hall area in Nashville? You weren’t at a wedding in the iris garden in front of the Ag center, were you? It’s my happy place, I walk my dog at that park every day. Well, not today, it’s 5 feet under water.

I am stupidly, stupidly lucky. I live across from that park, have a small spring behind my apartment that usually hoards rainwater, and yet, no flooding. It is in every neighborhood around me. Antioch, Blue Hole, Nolensville… it didn’t really sink in until I saw the aerial footage of the entire area this evening. I usually manage to keep it together when everyone else around me is blithering, but I just sobbed. All my friends and family ok, but the devastation is stunning. Had the morbid thought that when the water recedes, there will be more bodies.

I hate that I can’t get to my Mom, she’s all alone in Dickson 36 miles away and might as well be in Zimbabwe.

On a mundane note, shopping for groceries is going to be horrific, I fear. Glad you are all ok, stay safe.

Good luck to all effected and try to stay dry!!

I’m not trying to go to work today.

Driving through this is just nuts.

So I-24 is closed between Cheatam County and Rutherford County, so I don’t think you’d make it Bosda.

My work is closed, although those of us in IT are still working from home.

I took I-24 from the 'Boro into LaVergne and there were no problems, except for fog.

You know it is bad when the houses are moving down the Interstate faster than the cars: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAORaVW0z2M&feature=related

flash flooding with a vengence!

Hope everyone is staying safe.

That’s a picture from yesterday in Clarksville. By last night the water was just a few inches from the road. This morning the road and a few bridges have been closed. I just head the river is at 59.1 feet, flood stage is 46 feet.
