Midnight Restaurant Customers

I just always assumed they were either ignorant of the American custom of tipping, or that they just didn’t care/couldn’t see the point of it/didn’t want to spend the money even though they were aware of the custom. Great fun to talk to, most of them, but not exactly profitable. shrug What’s a girl to do?

Get out of a tourist bar, that’s what.

Or possibly get a job in a tourist bar in Europe where the Americans come in, as you will make out like a bandit. Well, unless the Americans are black, asian, brown, indian, white, old, young, single, coupled, teachers, male, female, or Chefguy’s brother. Then you’re fucked.

I tend to agree with the founding fathers when they believed that tipping was an insulting practice that implied that the person you tipped was below you in social status. I wish that there was a set price for product/service X and that you just did your job and provided that service for the set price. I know that is not how it is, but…

I go to church, and am good friends with a lady who cuts hair out of her home, no business, no tax, all cash under the table. I pay her $15 and she cuts my hair about every three weeks. Last week my wife told me that she was complaining that I never tip her.

WTF?!? We are friends! Our children play together and spend nights at each others homes. Why would I tip her like a fucking shoe shine boy? If she needs more money than that, why can’t she tell me the haircut is $18? I would still go there.

Because you’re unique. Most people would see the higher prices, and go to the cheaper place that has tipping.

That’s just the way it is.

Band name!!!

Ehh, not so much a band name, strikes me more as the name of the rhythm guitarist’s name (not sexy or classy enough for the lead guitarist/singer’s name). Techno/World/Punk group?

Maybe he’s one of the members of a Soviet-era Eastern Bloc Government approved “rock” band.

How did you come to this conclusion?

That’s funny, I have read and been told that you don’t tip the owner of the business. I wouldn’t tip her either. Guess we’re both cheapskates
