IANAD, but I take prednisone and I used to take dexamethasone daily for an adrenal disorder. My doc told me that steroid usage can cause oily skin and acne. I get much more facial acne now than I ever did before (I’m 44–I was hoping that I’d be beyond that already). You take a heck of a lot more than I do. I’m on 8mg of prednisone daily.
Anabolic steroids definitely list oily skin and acne as possible side effects.
I am not sure about the class of drugs you list, but I believe anything that messes with hormonal balances will have oily skin as a possible side effect.
I was having a hard time and called my Pulmo’a number this past Saturday afternoon. Spoke to the partner (not my Doctor) and he asked me about my Rx’s.
When I told about the steroids, I heard him give a muffled “Phew!”
I didn’t press it.
BTW he said I should go to the ER and check in. I didn’t.
On Monday, I saw my Hematology Oncologist, and told him about the call to the Pulmo. “The hospital’s the worst place for you,” he said. “Too many germs.”
BarnOwl, it is time to ask your medical adviser and doctor, and time to read up via inserts and other reference material about the drugs you are taking.
I would suggest that you acknowledge this is not the arena for such issues, and as you raise more, the amount of confusion can only grow.
Speak with a doctor or pharmacist, or check drug inserts.
