Military disability severance and unemployment

I will be receiving disability severance pay in a lump sum after separating from active duty does anyone know if this will keep me from collecting unemployment? I’m not talking about the tax free VA disability by the way but a taxable lump sum payment, this is in the state of Georgia by the way, if nothing else I’ll be calling the labor department tomorrow and getting an answer hopefully.

IANAL and I can’t advise as to the military, but I was permanently disabled due to a work place accident. I also received a lump sum settlement via Workers Comp and was advised by my attorney that I was not eligible for unemployment. I wish I could remember why, but it was ten years ago. I believe that the lump sum counted in some way if I recall correctly. Also, it took the company a few months to settle, so I was receiving weekly Workers Comp benefits. Those weekly payments made me ineligible to collect unemployment. Btw, this was in Georgia too. The military might be treated differently. I would hope that the military has lawyers available to you to answer this question.
