I’ve watched a lot of HermitCraft, and love all these ideas. I would like a refresher on server etiquette, because I don’t have any experience playing with others - and don’t want to grind the server to halt putting up a million picture frames or some such.
I just like building enormous things. I think I’ll build a pyramid 240 blocks high. I’ll find a huge open space near-ish the spawn point. Anyone who wants to help digging up sand and sandstone, join in!
I’ll probably start by working with animals and villagers. But we’ll see what’s available.
I’ve played on Resonant Rise servers before. It is more fun with other people. Right now, I’m playing the Big Chad Guys (non-Cobblemon) mod pack solo.
I probably will not join, as I am not a fan of Vanilla Minecraft, but I encourage those who are to join up. It really is more fun with other people.
I’m a huge fan of Minecraft and have mine own server, which is currently used by my son and friends. Not open to public for their safety.
I have to say I enjoy having operator status. You can do lots of fun stuff with command blocks. Lately I’ve been building temples that give buffs when you approach the altar, but zaps you for getting too close.
I gave a friend operator status so he could make a beacon at my dance hall that prevents players from needing to eat. That’s, apparently, not an effect you can make in survival.
(The goal of most of the participants is to learn some obscure square dance stuff, not to “play Minecraft”. We are using Minecraft as an accessible virtual reality so Californians can dance with people on the East Coast. And there’s a Swedish woman who may stop by.)
Hello everyone!
The plan is to open the server Saturday morning (US time). We will post the link here.
This is the seed, if anyone wants to go on chunkbase and look at things:

We are moving Spawn to 1270, 160, 2036. This puts it in a small bowl in the middle of some stony peaks. There’s lots of interesting terrain in the area. We would like to keep this bowl “nice”–that is, it’s great to build starter houses there, but no huge builds that overshadow everyone else, and later, it would be a good area for shops. And ideally no mining out the cliff walls on the inside/top.
If you want iron or coal, the outside of the cliffs/sides of the stony peak are fine. Just not the parts you can see from the inside of the bowl. And anything else can be claimed/built however people want.
The only other “rule” would be to respect other people’s builds (and property, obviously). Don’t build on top of them. I also think it’s really nice when people put signs on their builds saying who made it!
I think it would be fine to go ahead and claim a spot. There is a channel in the discord.
Mom and I would like the claim the village at 150, 1200.
Gamerules will be hard difficulty and fire tick on.
We are excited! Early game with people is so much fun.
For those of you who have never played, this is a really adorable video of someone playing with their mom for the first time. It’s not really designed as a tutorial, but it does a good job of showing the absolute basics. Most tutorials start a little further in.
I might hop on at some point. I think I have like 10 hrs or less in Minecraft. I like this style of game but for whatever the reason Minecraft just didn’t hook me. But I’m willing to give it another shot with some dopers!
I’ll check it out! I’ll quickly move out of the starting area so as not to mess it up.
We are live! Message me if you want the join code and/or link. I think it’s the easiest way. I don’t really want to post it on the open internet.
