Oh Maaaannn, I think I’m going to have to get me one of these.
I’ve been thinking about similar models from Kontax. Apparently the warmth of your hand is enough to make it run.
There are several eBay vendors selling these and similar Stirling engine models.
I love the look of the Böhm engines. I may get one to play around with a small-scale version of one of my pet projects.
I notice the kit versions cost the same as the full-price versions, for some reason.
I have heard of these before, and I love the look of those Bohm engines.
matt and scr4 very cool too.
I would like to get one and use it as a center piece on the table next time we have the neighbors over for dinner. Maybe get the little ferris wheel to hook up to it.
Though it does seem to be a bit noisy.
I did a little looking on Howstuffworks.com but I need to study it some more.
Is there any way to VERY generally determine the watt output of a Stirling engine base on displacement and heat differential?
……still looking……
Oh, god, the BF would LOVE one of those. He wants us to build a steam car. I already got him an expensive birthday present, but V-day IS coming up…
I want one for work to help me remember my roots. I’m a programmer.
My best friend needs one for sure. He and I are shade tree mechanics.
My Dad should have one as well.
