What is the bandwidth needed for trouble free VoIP service? Does it matter what VoIP provider you use bandwidth wise? Will high latency ISP’s (Satellite) work hunky-dory with VoIP?
Personal experence and technical answers welcome.

As for bandwidth, a 56K dialup connection is fine.
The issue is the “other stuff”. Latency and other quality of service things. E.g, on slow connections, packets tend to get bursty, dropped packets requiring to resent, etc.
Satellite would be quite unlike talking on the phone. Very high latency.
The reason people associate VoIP with broadband is that the “other stuff” is also much better.
