I had the exact same experience snorkeling. And the worst was when I accidentally inhaled some water through the tube.
The other main fear I have is loose teeth. I can’t stand people talking about them or wiggling them. It was even worse when I had them myself (Luckily I lost them all by fifth grade.) One time I passed out after looking at one of my own. I’m getting chills just thinking about it.
I always start out holding my breath, but it gets sort of tough when you’re trying to drive across one of the bridges to the Outer Banks.
I don’t know why I have this weird feeling that somehow I might jerk the wheel and go plunging over the side when I never have that happen on dry land.
Let’s see. There is the phone thing. I hate calling people on the phone. especially with a phone number I am not familiar with. I am terrified that I will get a wrong number.
Bee’s don’t scare me at all, but wasps scare me pretty bad. i don’t know what the difference is to my pyschi but one scares me and one doesn’t. Go fig.
Also, I have a slight fear of heights. Nothing huge. Nothing that I can’t over come, but my heart does beat a little faster when I am in a high place with little to no barrier.
I don’t know if this counts, but there have been some mornings when I have to wake up really early, aroung 5 ish. When it’s cold outside and the house gets a chill in it. When I am getting ready to take a shower, the fact that it’s cold and so early gives me an eerie feeling. It makes me feel uncomfortable and squirmish. I know this probably sounds strange, but every once in awhile it happens.
Balloons.
Divemaster, you aren’t alone. Whenever I see one, I have to shudder and beg it won’t go off. I hate loud noises too…so whenever anything “blows up” in a science class I find myself cringing. (Guess this would exempt me from the armed forces, hm?)
Phones.
Getting called isn’t so bad. I just hate calling people. I’m always afraid I’m going to sound like a moron…or something. I’m pretty self concious, I guess.
Tickling also.
I don’t like being touched around my neck either. I can understand how you could bloody your sister’s nose, Crunchy. It’s barbaric, I know…
[sub]I always knew he had it in him![/sub]
Flags.
I don’t really like them much. Country flags, at least…I hate how every flag looks the same. Like each flag of the U.S. is exactly the same…and how there are so many everywhere. It just creeps me out.
Eye touching.
That gets to me too. Probably shouldn’t get contacat lenses, hm?
Injections.
I can’t stand how that little needle goes under your skin. Come to think of it, I don’t like needles period much.
Guns.
They scare me…and whenever I see one in a movie or TV show, i’m always afraid the holder will accidentally pull the trigger and that will be the end. I’ve never had close contact with one in real life though. I’ve never thought too highly of them, though either. Don’t tell Gunslinger…
