I am SO sorry that I didn’t make it. I am in the throes of wedding planning right now. The invitations situation blew up, and the supplier is only available at extremely stupid hours, so I ended up missing the whole deal. Weddings are such a racket. Many, many apologies. If there’s a next time, I’ll say, “Screw the wedding!” and meet you fine people.
New job called for me to attend a meeting in Chicago on the Thurs and Fri before, turned it into a 4 day thing by visiting relatives in Wisconsin. Gotta keep my name in the will, ya know. Sorry I missed it, God knows I’m on enough shitlists already.

Anyway, here are some brief impressions I have of the posters…
Canthearya is amazing. She is totally sweet, will do anything to help someone (she was chauffer for half the group), and generally was the kind of person who defines salt-of-the-earth. I wish she was my next-door neighbor.
rubes is a trip. I make a lot of references to his drinking proclivities, but that’s okay. I found it funny that he thought he lived a sheltered life - He seems like the usual punker-turned-tecno fan, but there’s so much mroe to him than that. Funny guy, I’m honored to be his running mate!
FreakFreely is a nut-bag and I say that as a compliment. He reminds me of myself when I was a teenager - trying to come to terms with the world around me, thinking at times the world is against me, but finally resolving to piss off anything that pisses me off for good measure.
sandyr was a sweetie as well. She personifies the Midwest attitude, though not as docile as that might make you think. It was great of her to make the long drive for us all. I hope she found a good deal at Dayton’s!
Lucretia was fun and it was nice to finally meet someone with longer hair than I at a Doper meeting! Her daughters were totally cool, even if the youngest one was a bit sea-sick. I hope that Lucretia will let the older daughter post or at least lurk here from time-to-time. I think she would dig it, and after all, you saw how sweet we all are! 
I had a great time. After a weekend of work-related partying which, while fun, was still work in the grand scheme of things, it was nice to just hang out with some people whose text I have always found so appealing and see that the people behind them were great as well!
I hope I didn’t monopolize the conversation… I have a big mouth sometimes! 
Anyway, next time I am in the area, hope to get together ith you guys again… And maybe th real Silver_Fire even?
