What do you think I should have to ‘get’? I’m not American, but if even half the stuff I hear on these boards about what life is like for Black Americans is true then it’d be a miracle if they didn’t hate you.
Because they aren’t racist? It would be understandable if they resent the police and don’t find them trustworthy, but I see no reason to assume that large swaths of African Americans hate white people. Hence, the request for the cite for that claim.

The reason why lots of black people hate the government is because significant parts of the government actively persecute them. The way to solve this problem is for those parts of the government to stop persecuting blacks. Yes, this will be a slow solution: Even if all of the persecution were to stop today, it’d take decades to build up trust. But it’s the only solution that will work at all.
It’d be hard to find a cite because no-one would voluntarily tell a pollster that they’re racist. So we need to apply a little common sense. If you’re black, and you live in a White Supremacist society, and you’re surrounded by white people with massive amounts of unearned privilege they’ve done nothing to divest themselves of who get to swan through life while you get to struggle for everything - assuming, that is, that you’re lucky enough not to be gunned down for no reason by a racist cop - then…well, why wouldn’t you hate white people?

People sometimes assume that because they would hate anyone who has something they think is undeserved, that everyone would hate anyone who has something that is undeserved.
Sometimes they confuse “common sense” with their own biases, and project from there.
Trying to redefine the problem to be fundamentally about the feelings of people being mistreated, rather than the mistreatment of them itself, is a lazy evasion.
Don’t come here whining about the need to change black people’s attitude toward white people and the government; fix the racist behavior on the part of many white people and governments that is causing the problem in the first place.
Black communities didn’t erupt in protest over a video of white people putting on sunscreen or eating kielbasa or engaging in any other stereotypically white but non-racist actions. They protested over a video of white government employees callously murdering a black man (and the subsequent lack of disciplinary action against the murderers). The problem is not black “haters”; it’s the hateful actions targeting blacks.
People have been generically hating government and authority and those different from them since they became people. That will never change. If you’re seeking change, you need another tactic.
Two kinds of problems in the world: the problems that can be solved, and people.

I gotta admit, though, failed state and shithole country come to mind re. the USA, with the present race based police riots, the racialized highest incarceration rate of any country other than possibly North Korea and China, about a quarter of the people either without health care or with inadequate health care – again racialized, and foundational racism starting with slavery leading to today’s race-based discrimination and marginalization.
Sorry folks, but presently the USA is a failed state and a shithole country. I very much hope that you can get your act together. If Trump gets elected again in November, then you have no one else other than yourselves to blame.
