Minnesota trial of Derek Chauvin (killer of George Floyd) reactions

So not only do you have no proof, you don’t even have a basis for the accusation. Come back to us when you have proof.

He lied to the intent of the questions, you are the ones trying to break it down to was he in Minneapolis or DC, or just because he had a BLM hat on doesn’t mean he was biased.

The whole thing is now a shit show. They should have moved the trial.

Quoted for truth.

There’s an old saying in Law: ambiguity befalls the drafter (the one who wrote the document).

If he said yes to the question, as worded, but had not participated in any demonstrations or rallies in Minneapolis, then he would have been lying.

No, he didn’t. They wanted to know about protests in Minneapolis, about George Floyd’s murder. If they’d wanted to know about gatherings unrelated to George Floyd’s murder, in other cities, they wouldn’t have added those qualifiers to the question. But then there’s the problem that the question would be so broad as to be meaningless.

He lied to the intent of the questions. They are trying to find bias. Do I know if they asked him if he was in DC wearing a BLM hat and shirt, no.

I think they asked him if he attended any BLM related protests. That is a yes for a fact.

Ok you show me the questions they actually asked him. Point out to me where they ask just about Minneapolis.

Sorry, it is your job to put them in front of us.

He posted a link to the questionnaire in post #877

Miller linked to the actual questionnaire. It says Minneapolis.

However, they also asked this question (but I don’t know how he answered it) (and “protest abut police use of force or police brutality” is a bit vague too (would the MLK event qualify? I don’t know). I assume there was a lot of oral questioning after these questionnaires were filled out. We don’t know what this juror told them during that process.

12.Other than what you have already described above, have you, or anyone close to you, participated in protests about police use of force or police brutality?  Yes  No

Thanks for that. Now that I’ve read it I’m even more sure that he lied. You were all right about the Minneapolis thing, and I will say that it appears he wasn’t in the Minneapolis protests, but that was you guys trying to parse it down; he wasn’t in Minneapolis he was in DC so its all good he answered the question honestly.

The real questions damn him even more than that. Thank you again.

Due respect, it’s starting to sound like argument by repetition/assertion:

No see question 12 further down.

I haven’t see any reports that he answered that “no.”

See question 13

What was his answer on question 13?

From the Newsweek article:

“He said he had an extremely favorable opinion of Black Lives Matter as a statement; he expressed concern for how Black people are treated unequally; and he said he would be excited to serve on the jury because this was such an important and historic trial,” she said. “He was very clear about his opinions and the lawyers picked him.”

So it sounds like this juror did not lie on question 13

You really believe that if he answered truthfully to either of the questions he would have been allowed on the jury?

Do you have any evidence that he did not answer those questions truthfully?

You can’t be serious right? You really think Chauvins lawyers would have let this guy on the jury if he answered honestly?
