Miscellaneous tough questions for Christians

an all knowing being would not need prayers, if the almighty knows all things ahead of time he knows what his child needs and what would harm them the child would not have to ask.or have some one ask for the child’s needs. I know as a not perfect or all knowing parent I would not hold anything back for my child’s good nor give anything that would harm it. I would wonder hwy someone would tell me to bless my child or feed it when the child was just given a good meal. I expect a God who knows a person’s need to see that the child could trust me to give what is for it’s good nor give it something that would bring harm to it.

I would add: If heaven was a place of perfect peace ,love, etc. why did Satan and some of the angels rebel?

Why is it not seen as absolute, complete evil to torture even one soul for an eternity?

Hell is not the literal burning place that many people think of. It is simply removal from communion with God, which is what a sinner chooses. Link.

Reading a few verses starting from
• Matthew 21
• Mark 11
• Luke 19:30
How are we to see that Jesus is not a thief or some sort of thuggish Don?

They disagreed with the plan of salvation. They were against the free will part of it.

Torture is the absence from the father for eternity. It’s not a physical pain in a burning fire as some have portrayed.

What an awesome post. Well done, sir.

Leibniz had the right answer.

Yet you still describe it as torture. Is that justifiable?

What crime is worthy an eternity of punishment-any punishment?

Turning away from God.

Well, shit-I was about to sneeze and thought it would be rude to spray all over his robes.

More prayer, my son. More prayer.

Which god, Dad, which god?

Who is it that says “bless you” in a situation like that?

The God of the New Testament, of course. Isn’t that we’re discussing in this thread?

Certainly.

Were Adam and eve the first people and if so why do they say that the Australian aborigines have been around 40,000 years?

For your crimes you’ll be forgiven. The only sin that’s unpardonable is blastmaphy against the Holy Ghost. Basically, that’s having a perfect knowledge and thereafter, denying God. Under that circumstance, you are no longer blessed.
Satan had a perfect knowledge, as did his followers (they knew the Father and his plan). Therefore, they are doomed to an eternity absent the Father. IE they will not be forgiven. If it were possible for a man to gain such a perfect knowledge, and thereafter deny the Father, he too would lose his salvation.

Punishment, even torture as others have called it, means different things in different contexts. To a Christian, it would be spending eternity outside of the presence of the Father. To others, it means confinement in a cell and waterboarding. There are no cells or waterboarding in the afterlife.
