Misheard Song Lyrics (aka eggcorns or Mondegreens)

I can’t find a more recent mondegreen thread and I don’t think it’s worth starting a new one for this…

In Simon & Garfunkel’s The Boxer, I’ve always heard the line in the last verse as “And he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him down…”.

Every lyrics site I’ve looked at agrees with this. EXCEPT Paul Simon’s official site, which says that the line is “And he carries the remainders of every glove that laid him down”.

This has got to be a typo on Simon’s site, right? I can’t hear “remainders”, and it makes much less sense than “reminders” in context.

Timely this got revived.

I’m just now listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Pride and Joy and I have always heard:

She’s my sweet little thing
She’s my pride and joy
She’s my sweet little baby
I’m her little leather boy

It realy doesnt sound like “lover”.

I have lots. From the top of my head.

Stairway to Heaven: There’s a wino down the road (As we wind on down the road)

Love witll Keep Us Along: I will diaper you (I will die for you)
