In each of the Bond movies, she and Bond would have their little interchange near the beginning of the movie. I would think, “James, old boy, you’re passing by a good thing there. You’ll be sorry you missed your chance someday.”
I guess that day is here.
RIP, Miss Moneypenny.
Her character was arguably* the smartest cookie in the entire series, because she never made the oft-fatal mistake of getting involved with Bond.
OTOH, I like to imagine she could’ve had some fun with one or more of the other “00” guys over the years.
Britain’s last line of defense, indeed… RIP, Lois.
- Although there was the occasional bubblehead love interest with improbable professional qualifications… Christmas Jones, anyone?
I always liked her as (the voice of) Troy Tempest’s colleague Lt Atlanta Shore in “Stingray”.
Apparently, Sir Roger Moore knew her for about a million years. He seems to have been quite fond of her.
ETA- holy crap! 6000 posts!
Lois Maxwell’s performance was the one element they never successfully replaced as the Bond series evolved. No other Moneypenny was even worth the effort of mentioning in comparison.
