After 6 days my missing kitty has been found!!! He was curled up in the side yard on a patch of long grass, though why we didn’t see him before, or why he didn’t make his presence known ,will always be a mystery. He ain’t talkin’. He seems none the worse for the wear except a little thinner and grubby looking, seems to be his old self, not particularly starved or upset. Our other cat, who has been king of the castle for a week, is not pleased and may have a hard time adjusting as happens whenever the two have been separated for any time. We’ve lived through hissy fits before, and we’re just glad our cat’s back! Thanks for all the missing cat stories, they made me feel alone and discouraged.

I’m very happy that this has turned out so well.
Congratulations!! I’m very happy for both of you!
Hurrah!
All together now: “Oh, the cat came back, the very next day (well, almost), the cat came back, he just couldn’t stay away…”
Congratulations! I,m really happy that your cat is found. Strange beasts aren’t they?
Sounds like Duke has heard the same song. or seen the Canadian cartoon.
salinqmind,
HOORAY! HOORAY! HOORAY!
That is terrific news. I’ve been thinking about your kitty and hoping you would be reunited soon.

(doing a happy dance)
Congrats! I’ve been worried about the situation, but now I’m happy that everything has turned out okay for both you and kitty.
On a practical note, it might be a good idea to take the cat to the vet in the next day or so. Just to make sure that there’s nothing wrong with him besides the grubbiness and the thinness. After our cat returned from being AWOL, we had her checked out, and it turned out that picked up some kind of intestinal parisite while she was gone. Better safe than sorry.
Still, glad that you’ve been reunited with your loved one!
YAY!!!
Seconds on taking the little runaway to the vet, just as a precaution.
ALRIGHT! (While you’re at the vet, might as well get him groomed, too.)
[…Though I’m sorry if we made you feel alone and discouraged with all the cat stories (!?); I know that was not my purpose in relating my experience with HyperKitty. On the contrary, I wanted to let you know you’re not the only one whose cat has gone a-roamin’.
Or did you leave a word out of the last line of your post?]
Hurrah–Hurray–You’re kitten was found today!!
YYYEEAAAAAHHHH!!!
Saints be praised!
Oh Gosh - I meant to say, all your cat stories made me feel LESS alone and discouraged!!! Yes, I am calling the vet first thing tomorrow, the cat may have picked up some horrible outside germ, not to mention fleas. Nothing’s too good for my furry people!
What a relief! I was hoping it would turn out well. BTW, they never DO tell you where they’ve been. They usually just stare at you with their smug and knowing kitty expressions.
My daughter’s brand new (and untamed) hamster escaped from his cage last week and was lost for about 12 hours, but I managed to find him and capture him (unharmed, luckily). Somehow it didn’t have quite the same emotional impact as having cat missing.
Hurray!! I opened the thread as soon as I saw the title.
So glad it had a happy ending.
What excellent news! Yipee!!!
Oh good! I was sure it was something like that. And thank you for the off-board reply.
Now, how about a picture of the vagrant one so we can see how cute he is?
Yay!!
Excellent news! So glad to hear everything turned out OK!
Woo Hoo!!! What a wonderful end to a troublesome story. Many dopers knew exactly how you felt. The lucky ones know how you feel now. Congratulations on the return of your furry person.
