OK, so Friday night television is usually pretty weak.
But this show is actually very good…not exactly West Wing, but it does show how the process goes in DC.
And I have to admit, Mister Sterling (Josh Brolin, real life Barbra Streisand’s stepson) is doing a good job of playing the role of a US Senator.
Next week is the season finale, but I hope it comes back next season. Anyone else watching?
I very much enjoy it actually and I do hope it returns next season. I would most definately keep watching it if it returns. I’m already anxious for the next election. The good thing about this show is it’s not restricted to two terms (senators don’t have a 2 term limit do they? keep in mind I’m a canuck).
Another fan checking in. I like the way Sterling started out so idealistic and fighting the system, but is coming to realize that he has to compromise to get what he wants. I’ve missed a few episodes so I’m a little shaky on a few of the issues that have come up, but I hope to pick up on what I missed on rerun.
Oh, and mayberrydan - US senators serve six-year terms, so if Sterling wins the upcoming election the show is good for at least another six years. AFAIK they still haven’t passed any term limitation laws for US Senators (although some state legislatures have them).
Yep, I’m a big fan. I think it does a great job of presenting what life is really like for senators, and what they have to do to be effective and to stay senators.
Of course, his position is pretty outrageous, but that’s the joy of TV.
Sorry to hear about Mr. Sterling and Kingpin getting the axe…and although I used to watch Drew Carey, I think the show sorta lost it a few seasons ago.
Oh well…
At least they seem to have kept West Wing, 24, Alias and most of the others I watch regularly.
I am kind of surprised about Mr. Sterling as I thought I read it was getting decent ratings…apparently not.
