MLB: August 2010

The Reds and Cards just can’t seem to get any separation from one another, can they?

I don’t know what’s wrong with the Rangers offense of late, but we just can’t seem to string together enough singles ('cause we sure ain’t getting extra-base hits) to score some runs. Hence we lost to Seattle last night 3-2.

Well the Yanks fell out of first place last night. Tampa is really playing some great ball right now.

Nah, you just ran into our “stopper”. Sure, he was the #5 starter when the season started, but … dayum!

Would be a really good race if the wild card didn’t make it more or less moot.

True, but keep in mind the Yankees have done terribly as the Wild Card team. So it will retain its importance I think to both teams I believe.

Yah. He pitched an excellent game. Congrats.

Well A-Rod or A-Roid if you prefer finally got #600.

Also Yanks won behind Phil Hughes. Jeter scored 3 times I believe.

The Rockies were right there at the All Star break, and then they had that abysmal road trip where they went 2-9 while the stupid Giants kept winning!

The Rockies are toast now. When will we ever learn how to win on the road?!

When the Tigers do.

After last night’s collision, Russell Martin is on the DL for at least 15 days.

Wanna be really sad? I was just reading that if he has to have surgery he is out for the rest of the season, and that because he is a catcher he might be anyway.

On a happy note, did you see the game Padilla pitched tonight? That was stunning.

John Buck is on the DL after taking a foul tip off the hand in yesterday’s game. The Jays have called up JP Arencibia, who has hit 31 HRs at Vegas.

On a night when the Rangers beat the Mariners 11-6, the team is auctioned off to Nolan Ryan’s group. Fortunately, Mark Cuban did NOT have the highest bid.

Well that’s good news, at least. Nolan Ryan is a class act

Kevin Youkilis out for the season.

The Red Sox injury thing has passed the “ridiculous” line and is now approaching the level of black comedy.

Twins got a lucky break against the Rays today. It was tied in the ninth, with two on and two out, and Jason Kubel hit a regulation pop-up that should have ended the inning. Except it hit a part of the Tropicana Field scaffolding, fooling the infielders and dropping near the pitcher’s mound for an RBI single. That gave the Twins the lead. They added another run, and took care of the Rays in the bottom of the ninth to win the game.

My heart bleeds for them. :stuck_out_tongue:

I bet Fox is just overwhelmed with joy knowing there is a good chance they’ll be showing the Reds, Rangers, Padres, and Rays during the playoffs.

It is nearing the level of last year’s Mets now.
