That’s a good argument for why the As should cough up the league minimum again next season for him as their starting 1B, not why he should ever be mentioned in the same sentence as Carlos Correa.
Yeah, I’m with **Munch **on this. The article pretty much says that Canha had a good August, though it was helped out by an unsustainable batting average on balls in play, and though he drew hardly any walks–still, it was a good month! Plus, he might be better against lefties than people think.
The article reads like “He’s better than we thought he would be earlier than we thought he would be, and he might be a good option for our team next season,” which is nice but hardly presents a case for Rookie of the Year. I mean, no one in Houston is writing articles suggesting that going with Carlos Correa as a regular next year would be a “risky gamble” or arguing that Correa “has earned a spot on the Opening Day roster next year.”
