Woke up to some weird news, Harrison Bader in a weird scooter crash
Seems like the Giants don’t want to pay him, which makes sense if he’s doing late night drunken scooter rides rather than focusing on rehabilitation.
The Giants are way out of it and I assume they were likely to shut him down for the season regardless.
Hasn’t been the greatest of years for them, that’s for sure.
Dodgers possibly getting Skubal. My God, the rich get richer.
Remember how everyone (myself included) used to bitch about the Yankees buying championships every year? I think we’re going to start doing that about the Dodgers.

When I was a teenager, in the late '70s and early '80s, when the Brewers were a very good team, but were still in the American League East, I hated having the Yankees looming over us like the damned Empire in Star Wars, and being an eternal barrier between my team and playoff success.
Now, the Brewers are really good again, but they’re in the NL, and it’s the same thing, only it’s the Dodgers. Uggggggh.
As a lifelong Dodgers fan. I watched them lose the series twice to the Yankees in the 70s. I watched their brief moments of glory in 81 and 88, and then endured a three decade WS drought that included watching Fox trade away a Hall of Fame catcher and watching them get literally cheated out of a WS win, I have very little empathy for Dodgers haters today. As if they are the only ones spending money. Yeah, we’re pretty stacked right now, but even with that, I watched one of the closest World Series last year that I’ve ever seen. Nothing is a given, but it sure is nice to see them finally become a threat again.
Sorry, man. The Dodgers have only five World Series titles in the past 45 years? My heart, and the Brewers’ empty trophy case, bleeds for you. 
The Tigers won yesterday, but there was a bench-clearing incident after the last out. The Athletics’ Jeff McNeil bunted for a base hit with two out in the ninth and a man on third, who scored to make it 8-6 Detroit and bring the tying run to the plate. Reliever Kenley Jansen got the third out and then confronted McNeil, upset that he had bunted.
Apparently the As should only have been trying to win “the right way”. 
The Tigers, 2.5 games back in the Wild Card race, gave up Skubal and got the Dodgers FIFTH best prospect and two other guys? Schmucks. Sucks to be a Tigers fan, big time.

For the record, I never hated the Yankees for “buying” championships. I hate the Yankees because they’re from NYC!

Solid lefty batter and native New Yorker. He’s having his best year.
Yanks have him for the stretch run and 1 year of arbitration.
The Nationals will receive right-handers Yovanny Cruz, Jake Bird, Jack Cebert (the Yanks’ No. 14 prospect) and Ben Grable (No. 25).
Nice t see them making a move.

To be clear: even though, as a teenager, I would say, “I hate the Yankees,” I really don’t, and I don’t hate the Dodgers, either; I now reserve the term “hate” for very specific, very serious things, and baseball ain’t on that list.
(I strongly dislike certain fans of the Yankees, and to a lesser extent the Dodgers, because some of them come across as feeling that they have a god-given right to their teams making the playoffs every year, and winning World Series with regularity. I have a similar dislike for certain Cowboys fans, for the same reason.)
But, I am frustrated by the fact that the Dodgers (and other large-market teams) can afford to throw huge money at so many players, and that there is such income imbalance in MLB. I’m frustrated by the fact that the team I’ve loved since I was a little kid has only been to the World Series once (and lost), and even though the Brewers are, quite probably, fielding the best team that they’ve had in decades, they still have the stars align just right when it gets to playoff time, because to get to the World Series, they have to get past a juggernaut like the Dodgers, who – of course – just grabbed the best guy available on the trading block.
