MLB.com Gameday, 2007 version -- some nice improvements

I’ve been a fan of the free Gameday web app for watching baseball games for a few years. Each year MLB has upgraded it. This year’s upgrades are rather nice. The first one I noticed is that the batter view is expanded, with several angles to choose from, which is some eye candy. But the ones I like most are the revisions to the batter-by-batter pitch data, and the ability to view past ABs for both the batter and the pitcher, showing ball/strike locations. You can clearly see patterns of pitching low, for example, or that a batter has taken a lot of pitches.

If you’re a baseball fan with highspeed Net access, it’s worth keeping on in the background during the workday when your team is playing.
