Ivan Tedachallenge? What position did he play?
You could also add Ivan Dejesus Jr at 2B

There are the two Jeff Pfeffers but their given names are Francis Xavier and Edward Joseph.
From the Golden Age of Jeff in the 90s, there’s also Jeff Fassero, who was at least pretty good for a while there.
So I cheated and found Jeff Hammonds as my CF and Jeff Reed as my catcher, and found out that I could swap Blauser out for (Jeffery) Adam Everett if I wanted to switch from good-hit no-field to good-field, no-hit.
I’m not that picky
I was also going to add Stephen Strasburg, but I thought that might be pushing the rules a bit. Oh, what the hell – I’m taking him, questionable arm and all!
Good call on Balboni! That guy could hit the long ball! I was also a long-time fan of Finley. I’m a little pissed with myself for not coming up with that one on my own.
Jeff Conine could beef up your bench, and Jeff Weaver could be another meh starter.
I’m a Paul, so I thought I’d try that. The team is pretty thin, despite two Hall of Famers.
C LoDuca
1B Konerko
2B Molitor
SS Janish
3B
LF Waner
CF Blair
RF O’Niell
SP Splittoff, Maholm
RP Assenmacher
I may have to clone Paul Molitor to play third.
As a potential clarification about your lineups, any player you pick is that player in his prime, even if that prime only lasted a season. So some of your mediocre picks might look a little better in that light.
You can add Paul Quantrill to your pitching staff. He might be able to chew up a couple innings here and there…
Since folks have been doing their own names - here’s my best shot at an all-Jason team:
C: Jason Varitek
1B: Jason Giambi
2B: Jason Donald
SS: Jason Bartlett
3B:
LF: Jason Bay
RF: Jason Heyward
CF: Jason Bourgouis?
SP: Jason Schmidt
RP: Jason Isringhausen
For some reason I think the George’s might be better…
Jim and James:
1B: Jimmie Foxx
2B: Jim Gantner
SS: Jimmy Rollins or Jim Fregosi
3B: Jimmy Collins
C: James “Biz” Mackey
OF: James “Cool Papa” Bell
OF: Jimmy Wynn
OF: Jim Edmonds
DH: Jim Bottomley
SP: Jim Palmer
SP: Jim Kaat
SP: Jim “Catfish” Hunter
SP: Jimmy Key
SP: Jim Perry
Wow, that’s a good team.
I was working on a “Jim” team as well. I also had Jim Sundberg and Jamie Quirk behind the dish, Jim Thome as a DH, and Jim Piersall in the outfield.
Someone help me out, here. I can’t get much of anywhere without looking anything up.
3B - Chris Sabo (was he 3B? That’s my vague recollection)
OF - Chris Young (the tanned)
SP - Chris Capuano
SP - Chris Young (the fair-skinned)
CP - Chris Perez
I would consider this guy as my starting pitcher:
Christopher “Christy” Mathewson
Chris Cannizzaro behind the plate and Chris Chambliss at first.
Sabo was a 3B, yes. You might also add Chris Carpenter to your starting rotation.
Carpenter, you say? Interesting. Is that guy any good?
:smack:
Trot Nixon’s real name is Christopher if you still need a Right Fielder.
Chris Speier was a decent shortstop.
The Dons would have a great starting rotation:
Drysdale, Sutton, Newcombe. Plus Don Robinson, who could also pinch-hit.
For the rest of the team, there’s Mattingly and Baylor. Zimmer can manage. And for extra credit (a special bonus for Cardinals fans!), there’s Don Denkinger.
