A slight nitpick. It is a 10 day DL that took the place of the 15 day DL. There is a 7 day DL for concussion related injuries.
One guy in the stands at the Oakland/Atlanta game Sunday caught ***three ***foul balls, including two on consecutive pitches.
This is already being discussed here :

Speaking of foul balls, here’s an excerpt from today’s ABC News account of an infant being struck by one during a minor league game in New Jersey:
*"New Jersey state police Trooper Lawrence Peele says the child was conscious and alert when flown to University Hospital in Newark. No further information was available.
The Miners are in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, an independent league. They won the Wednesday game against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles of Quebec, 4-2."*
Kind of odd they felt the need to give the final score. I’m reminded of a bit in “The Boys Of Summer” when a reporter covering the Brooklyn Dodgers conjured up a news story about the entire team being killed in a plane crash, with this sub-headline:
"Team Was Returning From 5-2 Road Trip, Pitching Improved"
Oh, that’s right! Thanks for the correction.
Man, this Royals team is a lot of fun to watch, as are the Brewers. I saw someone on twitter say something to the effect of “I sure hope that this Brewers team is good. They’re not great, but they might very well be good”.
I missed out on ordering the MLB.tv Father’s Day week special - a hugely discounted price on the rest of the season. Maybe I’ll pop for a team special.
SHhh! Don’t give them any ideas! (“Just think, we can have twice as many uniform variants to sell, AND twice as many game-used jerseys to sell!”)
Good to see the Red Sox 3B problem solving itself. Deven Marrero has shown increasing flashes of adequacy at the plate, while still flashing the leather, and Tzu-Wei Lin has come out of the same nowhere as Benintendi (namely AA ball) without showing any holes yet. So, no more of this Frazier/Moustakas talk, at least for now.
Price looks healthy again, and Porcello has had a few quality starts lately, so the rotation looks pretty solid again. Kelly feeding Kimbrel looks like a good enough answer to the 8th inning problem, too. So October is looking good.
Kyle Schwarber CAN NOT play the outfield. The Cubs recalled him for his bat, but he’s helping add to the Brewers beat down of the Cubs this afternoon with his awful defense. He needs to be trade bait to an American League team needing a long term DH who has the added twist of being an emergency catcher.
A salute to Cory Kluber for pitching his fifth consecutive game with at least 10 strikeouts.
Although one “fan” would prefer that we find a different way to keep track of strikeouts at baseball games.
Hope she’s never serenaded with this song.
The Dodgers pull off a bottom-of-the-ninth comeback to sweep the Douchebacks at home. Dave Roberts called it “a perfect game.” Mainly because it was his bobblehead night, his daughter sang the National Anthem, his son threw out the first pitch (to his father) and they won.
Works for me!
As a KC resident, I find this a little bit funny. Probably right up until the Royals won the wild card game in 2014, “yosted” was a fairly common shorthand for “lost another game due to a manager’s decision”. Personally, I’m just a casual fan and don’t worry much about what the manager is doing (or not).
Amazing how getting to back-to-back World Series makes you a better manager in the eyes of the world. It does seem like Ned maybe a better psychologist getting his guys to play better than chess player moving his lineup around.
Ouch. Another outfield screwup by Kyle Schwarber. I’m not sure I’ve seen a worse MLB outfielder.

For the record, this is the 25th time I have said it; it is just stupid to ask Kyle Schwarber to play the outfield.
Never seen Matt Joyce, have you?
If the guy can’t hit, run, or field, then what’s all the fuss about?
RickJay:
Good time for National League clubs to stop resisting the twentieth century (and yes, I know it’s now the 21st, but the DH was around for a full quarter of the 20th)
Death before dishonor!!
FIve games. How adorable.
I don’t know, but the Cubs could have dumped him on the Yankees rather than giving up Gleyber Torres.
Considering that Sale(who is a great pitcher) has started 18 games this year and Kluber 13(because he was hurt earlier), Sale might just want to start looking over his shoulder.
