MLB: September 2010

So we’ve established that outs are the true culprits in rally killing?

Two more homers tonight for Jose “The Beast” Bautista. Holy flurking schnitt.

Jeez Reds, it sure would be nice if you would stop giving me the feeling that we aren’t going anywhere in the playoffs due to the way you’ve been playing baseball in September!

:frowning:

The Rangers beat the A’s last night to move their magic number down to two. They still have two more games against them, so hopefully they’ll clinch in the next day or so.

WEll, of all the Jays to win it with a bottom-of-the-11th homer, I wouldn’t have chosen Lyle Overpaid.

Fact: Jose Bautista is leading the AL in homers by a margin of 14 (52 to Paul Konerko’s 38.) If he were to maintain that large a lead it would be the widest margin by which a player has led the AL in homers since Mickey Mantle in 1956.

Aroldis Chapman tossed the fastest pitch ever recorded in MLB history last night against the Padres. Story: Chapman throws fastest pitch ever recorded

Rangers clinch!

When is Hamilton back?

Supposedly for the last series against the Angels, if for no other reason than to get his timing back down. But I bet he won’t be back until the playoffs.

Goddammit Reds, this is no way to be going into the playoffs!

Hey, they need to lose 1 more game today against the Padres. Then they can win the rest of their games. San Diego needs the win more than Cincinatti today.

Please substitute **Yankees **into this Quote.

Matt Cain got a little sumpin’ going in Denver. 8th inning.

OK, I jinxed it. Not that I feel bad about it.

Damn it, Padres! Back in 2nd again. Grrrrrr. :frowning:

And the Reds clinch the division with a Jay Bruce walk-off homerun. Except that he couldn’t walk off with that mob surrounding him.

Well Yanks won and finally locked in at least the Wild Card. 1/2 game behind Tampa.

Woo Hoo! Giants 2 games up, Rockies officially eliminated! Great night!

Joe

That scene was crazy!

The good news is that as long as the Padres don’t lose against the Cubs anymore, their fate is in their own hands since the last 3 games are against SF. If they want it badly enough, they can win their way back to 1st all on their own (instead of relying on other teams to help deliver them up).

:crosses fingers:
