NL Wild Card game at PNC on Tuesday. Liriano v. Cuedo. But Cole isn’t starting tomorrow. I think Hurdle has something up his sleeve there…like maybe getting the Reds to put in a right-handed line up only to bring in Cole in the 4th or 5th. Seems like it will be a dual starting pitcher game like RickJay suggested.
I’m surprised Cueto is the starter after all the time he’s missed as well as how well Latos has pitched in his absence. I’d have given the vote of confidence to Latos, his last poor start notwithstanding.
They might as well have Latos warming up in the first inning. Why not? There’s no tomorrow. Do anything.
Wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Cardinals win!
They thus have the best record in the NL. And this with relying heavily on young, rookie pitchers (as starters and relievers) throughout the season. The common factor is that Yadier Molina has done most of the catching. I don’t know how much of a difference that makes, but if it has made a difference, it’s a point in Yadi’s favor for NL MVP, albeit one that’s harder to measure than the usual player stats.
Indians in the playoffs. WOO!
Go Indian’s. Cleveland’s run has been an under appreciated great story this year.
I appreciated it.
The Cardinals’ win means they will face one of their division rivals in the “Divisional” round. And it’s gotta be Pirates, right? No way they’re gonna lose that game on Tuesday.
The MLB and TBS and Fox are going to shit themselves if there is a Cleveland-Pittsburgh (or Cincy) World Series. hahaha!
I desperately want to talk smack about how LA has a world series spot all wrapped up, but frankly…I am afraid of jinxing things even with a joke. St. Louis is a scary good team and it looks like LA plays them first, and hurt.
No, Dodgers start at Atlanta on Thursday.
I see, I wasn’t following the thread closely enough and didn’t see that St. Louis won.
Well, I don’t know how I feel about that.
Why would TBS care? All World Series games are on Fox.
After the division series, the only thing TBS has is the NLCS - which is (Atlanta or LA) versus (St. Louis/Pittsburgh/Cincinnati). Now there’s irony - I have a feeling a considerable number of people in Atlanta will be rooting for the Dodgers.
Thankfully… yes!
I appreciate the Rangers trying to take an unprecedented route to the Series. Nice of them to manufacture some excitement through the embrace of doubt.
Rooting for the Dodgers against who, and why?
Ohhh… now I get it. You are saying that a Dodgers NLCS is more money. So you when you say “people,” you mean Time Warner shills. All right.
Well of course that’s what he means. All right-minded people everywhere would naturally be rooting *against *the Dodgers.
Only 183 days until Opening Day 2014!
Rooting against the miracle team of 2013 with the best pitcher in the MLB and the exciting young rookie who reminds you why you love the game?
And Brian Wilson. Who looks way better in blue than he ever did in Orange? (Because no one looks good in Orange).
Edit: that line was supposed to be funny, but I decided it was in bad taste.
Anyway, suck it Giants fans. On to the post season!
I’m hoping the Pirates win through. That would be a fun and improbable run.
If the Dodgers don’t win that’s pretty much the only other outcome that won’t make me totally sad.
