This morning we had fried eggs, fresh from the chicken’s butt; fresh baked bread from the bakery in Maiden Rock; locally made honey; locally roasted coffee beans; and blueberries we picked ourselves two days ago. Last night we had fresh corn on the cob. Good livin’ in Wisconsin doesn’t have to include fast food joints.
I went to the farmer’s market this morning and got a lot of lovely fresh, local produce: onions, scallions, garlic, cucumbers, potatoes, parsley and cherry tomatoes. There’s nothing like a bag overflowing with bunches of green leafy tops. I’m making a vinaigrette-based potato salad for dinner tonight and tabbouli tomorrow. For yay!
Cool! When’s dinner?
