"Mobile Strike" - Is anybody else getting spamming incessantly with ads for this game?

On my phone, the various ad-supported apps that I use have been advertising this game “Mobile Strike” very aggressively. This is apparently some type of tank battle game. I understand that these ads are not controlled by the apps themselves, but are served up much like the ads on most websites.

The thing is, I have no interest in this game, I close out of the ad at the first opportunity, and have never tapped any links for more information. In short, I’m not a good market for this game. In fact, there is only one game of any sort on my phone, and it’s not remotely the same type of game as Mobile Strike (although it is itself ad-supported).

This has been going on for months. It’s like I’m getting spammed by Mobile Strike, but they’d be better served by advertising to me something I’m more likely to be interested in.

Is anybody else getting continual ads for Mobile Strike, or is it just me?
Is Mobile Strike a legitimate game, or is it actually some kind of spam?

(Edit - sorry for the poor grammar in the thread title!)

Yes, I see many ads for it on my phone, and I do think of them as spam. It may be a “legitimate” game, but it’s very much pay to win - no, pay to get by; pay through the nose to win…

The ads are horribly misleading. Many of the ads include a playable “demo” that is almost, but not quite, completely unlike the actual game. I installed it based on the “demo”, but quickly discovered it’s another one of those games where you spend one or two days of newbie truce time building up your army, then immediately get repeatedly wiped out by people who either have been on since day one, or spent hundreds of dollars in microtransactions buying an army, leaving you with no chance to ever build up your army.

There’s a new malware doing the rounds called Fireball. You might want to check.

It’s popular, and the ads attract enough players to make it worth it to the company. It is probably very profitable as they can pay the salary of a famous actor and former governor to provide his likeness.

Its legitimate in the sense that every free to play game is; you can play for free or pay real money for faster progress. Enough players do so to make it lucrative. But no, its not malicious, at least not more so than casinos.
