The building where I work has a moderate-size parkinglot with grass margins. The part of the building where I work has very nice 2-nd story windows.
One of my spring pleasures is watching mockingbirds stake out their territory through the parking lot. They will basically walk parallel to one another, ocassionally flashing their winds and jumping at one another disputing a couple of square feet of asphalt. I have not noticed any other SE birds doing this. Are there others?
I saw a belted kingfisher chasing out a rival. That was interesting.
