I recently moved to San Diego and seem to have rather easily landed a job as a “talent scout” with a company called The Wilhelmina Scouting Network. I found it odd how quickly and enthusiastically they replied to my application through Monster.com. My resume was nothing special.
I went through their orientation/interview and am due to be back for their training program next week. Now for the problem.
I did a google search and came up with a few sites that centered around this company being nothing but a big scam. They claim that Wilhelmina is and has been committing tax fraud ever since they’ve been around. It says they actually changed they’re name because of it. I got the impression during the orientation that they were a legitimate company. I was just wondering if anyone out there knew anything about them and could either put my mind at ease or give me that one piece of information that will let me know I should get out before I myself get scammed.
Of course I have not, nor will I, give them any money. If it is a scam, its a little better hidden than one of that nature.
