Modem error message dsl

*"Potential Connection Issue (Message ID: NAD-2902)

The Motorola 2210-02 modem has detected potential problems with your DSL connection which may impact your service. This problem is often caused by a phone or other device which is connected to your phone line (such as a fax machine, satellite receiver, alarm system or medical monitor) that does not have a DSL filter.

Please check that all telephone equipment is attached to a DSL filter and that the filter is properly installed (e.g., is not installed backwards)."*

We have no phone, only dsl. The phone lines inside the home were removed.

Router Belkin.

Moved the modem and router to see if interference identified. No change.

No known problems with internet use, except possible random freezing IE10 requiring restart of browser. Usually use Firefox. No freezing issues with Firefox. Some random slow loading problems with Firefox.

Any suggestions? False positive? Do we care?

My advice with any error: Google the error code. In this case: “NAD-2902”. I found a few things that you might find useful, but don’t know enough about your situation.

it may be indicating a weakened signal which could be caused by lack of filters.

No filter is needed when there is no other device.
The modem cannot actual tell what is causing the interference, it is just saying that there is a transient problem.

Its probably some sort of interference, eg due to a short circuit.

Is there a pit that is getting flooded ? eg by rain or car washing or something ?
