Reactionary – Right Wing – Conservative – Centrist – Liberal – Progressive – Socialist
Domestically, the current Republican Party starts at Right Wing and goes to Reactionary, while the Democratic Party starts at Conservative and goes to Liberal. Progressives and Socialists are ignored/reviled. At least that’s what it seems to me.
What moderate means when it comes to insurgents I guess is compared to what is even worse.
Yes. “Moderate” no longer has a useful meaning in political discourse because the US govt has taken such extreme policies and has made them appear moderate.
Trillion dollar bank bailouts are moderate.
War in Afganistan is moderate.
$700 billion dollar stimulus is moderate.
Flying death machines are moderate.
Unprecedented and otherwise incredible monetary stimulus is moderate.
Government decrees affecting the health of all are moderate.
Trillion dollar deficits are moderate.
Massive Orwellian surveillance state is moderate.
Covertly and overtly supporting jihadists and other rebels in otherwise stable countries is moderate.
Giving tanks to police officers is moderate.
There is literally nothing the government could do that both party elites agreed on that would not be considered a moderate policy. If moderate means anything now it means supported by Democratic and Republican donors.
Either that or his hunger was merely moderate to start with.
What makes a man turn neutral … Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?
