Recently, within the last two weeks, maybe in the last week, I read a review of a new mystery whose characters were supposedly clearly based on Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin.
And now I can’t remember where I read it. And I can’t find any trace of it by searching on “Modesty Blaise”.
Anybody out there have a clue?
Perhaps No Help for the Dying?
It’s exactly along those lines, but the one I remember was set in the U.S.
The Modesty Blaise character was a Boston Brahmin…
And that’s the clue I needed to search on.
The novel is Eye of the Archangel: A Mallory & Morse Novel of Espionage, by Forrest DeVoe Jr.
It just appeared but there’s evidently an earlier book in the series, Into the Volcano.
So thanks for helping me jog my memory, and I’ll check out No Help for the Dying as well.
