Mold/Mildew Removal

I have a vinyl seat that has a bit of mold and mildew on it, and wondered how to remove it withour damaging the vinyl.

This thread is better suited for General Questions. I’ll move it for you.

I’ve removed mildew from dry-wall and my deck, but not from vinyl. The best solution I found was first killing with a dilute bleach solution and then washing it out (scrubbing.) After that see if you can find a mildew-resistant treatment for the vinyl.

I don’t know how the bleach would affect the vinyl, so make it a very dilute solution (about 1-100 mix, about 6 oz to 5 gallons.) The key is that you have to kill the mold/mildew. It will come back if you just scrub. After killing it with the bleach, just a soapy solution would be fine to scrub it out.

Hope this helped a little. Good luck!

Leviticus 13: 47-59 has some very specific procedures for dealing with mold and mildew but only for linen, wool and leather. Nothing sepcifically for vinyl. You’re gonna need a priest, though.
