Moms can't find non-slut dolls for their daughters?

I heard three of my co-workers, all moms with adolescent daughters, engaged in this rather angry collective rant. All the popular dolls these days dress or in some manner look like 'hos?

Are there some solutions out there? I dunno, does Barbie count among the ‘hos?
Also, according to onw of the moms, it’s become a girls’ fashion statement in middle and high school to visibly wear birth control patches (or maybe lookalikes)high on their hips, above the beltline. Is this a widespread thing?

THESE aren’t the usual dolls…

If they don’t like it, they can make their own darn dolls out of straw and cornhusks and scraps of colorful fabric!

Now thats not fun. What about all the accessories? Purses and cell phones clash with cornhusks! Anyway, that color is SO out of style!

This is the only dolly I could find for my little Princess.

I was going to sell them as “discipline boots”, but decided to stick with the equestrian theme.

What’s the problem here? Don’t all moms want their 11-year-olds dressing and looking like Bratz dolls?

I guess I can see that. It’s a way of showing that they are ready and available for “consequence-free” sex.

I weep for our children.

Blame the kids? Where are the parents? I weep for the ignorant parents who let their kids walk all over them! Who’s in control here, anyway? If the kids don’t like it, they can get out of MY house and go live out on the streets. You gotta stop coddling them and start putting your foot down! For once just say NO to your own little too-cute for words darling who needs to learn who’s boss!

Don’t give me that peer pressure guff, it’s tough-love baby! How many of these kids today know the meaning of responsibility, discipline (which is NOT the same as punishment, mind you) and chores? Blame the parents! Wake up, America!

Who’s the adult here?

Sorry, Lord Ashtor…in hindsight, I see your comment is probably in agreement that parents are too “lazy-fair” in their duties!

Sorry if I took it wrong, at first…

I went searching for dolls and found a [url=https://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod17163&parentId=cat000695&index=8]fairy of virtue* doll.

From the talk I’ve heard, a lot of schools are regulating the patch … you can’t wear it where it will be seen. I’m sure there are a number of large bandaids or stikcy tape facimilies out there (what is that plastic ‘paper’ on a roll you get?).

I’ll keep looking for less scantily clad dolls, but I don’t think you’ll find many. Maybe there’s a reason to put kids back in home-ec … make doll clothes!

I went searching for dolls and found a fairy of virtue doll.

Not a particularly happy doll is she?

If you had to wear a dunce cap with big white flowers on it so the bees could buzz all around you would yoou be happy?

The second I saw the thread title some lyrics from Southpark:BLT came to mind:

We must blame them
And cause a fuss
Before somebody thinks of blaming us

Thanks for the apology, Jinx. All I was saying is that I think it’s a stupid fad.

How about this one?

True, she’s no Baroness…

Well, you can use faded flower-print fabric to make a bonnet, or use some white fabric to make a chastity belt! The possibilities are endless!

By the way, don’t most girls stop playing with dolls about when they become teenagers?

The American Girls dolls have become very popular over the years, so much so that Mattel bought them. They even have a line of dolls in modern clothes, I see.

Like many parents are going to throw their children out…

How about the Rosie O’Donnell Doll?
