Monday, September 26 is Rock the Capitol Day in Harrisburg, PA

Y’all will have to ogle the pig without me. I’ve got an interview that afternoon.

Robin

I vote for the former. Dope fests are purely local, we have threads on those all the time. And I fail to see how someone’s “pet issue” doesn’t belong in the Pit. Hell, seems the Pit is specifically for the venting about “pet issues.” It affects all the citizens in the state of PA, danceswithcats is rallying support in the community. Not like he’s endorsing showing up with ordinance or anything other than showing up and making voices heard. Cool your jets.

If threads like this rile you so much that you have to piss in them, you should’ve stayed a mod so you could close them.

Now that I’m back in town-it wasn’t my intent to piss off anyone with this thread-I debated between bumping one of the previous threads and starting a new one. The latter was selected owing to new evidence of egregious abuse by state judges. From what I’ve observed, state, as well as national and local issues are fair game when politics is the topic on SDMB. Should my understanding be flawed, advice by a Mod is welcomed.

So was the Capital Rocked?
The news coverage sucks badly. Apparently Rita held attendance down to ~1000, or is that not true? Did no one take any pictures?

Will there still be anything going on there on Friday? I have to go to Harrisburg this Friday and it might be interesting to watch some civil disobedience!

I stopped by, it was eh. Young Conservatives, Club for Growth, those militia Border Patrol guys, a Rush radio station…I really only saw a right-wing Jamboree. Not sure where the League of Women Voters are on the political spectrum. Granted, I agree with the reason for the protest.
