Money and the school system

In the United States, I have noticed the decline of the school system.
We have state lotteries here in Indiana, a large portion of this money is allocated
to the state for the purpose of education. This money however is not being given
to the school for the purpose of the education of the children, but rather to fatten the pockets of school elected officials, some to the tune of over a million dollars,
in retirement pay or severence pay. The public schools officials are crying they don’t have enough money to feed our children healthy lunches (Republican Party),
we no longer require science class until 5th grade in some schools, music, is taken
out of the school, field trips that would inspire our youth to become scientist are all gone, extra classes in the schools for advanced children is gone. The school board now wants children in some schools to pay forty dollars a month per child to ride the school bus, if you can’t afford this you will be arrested for “failure to ensure” which states all children have the right to an education. I think the parents should be able to take the schools to court for “failure to ensure”, the children get good meals so they can learn, and failure to ensure our children don’t have to miss out on Science, Field Trips, Music,Art, schools are not only taking the money meant for education and getting rich off it, they are robbing the country of imaginative, creative, healthy, scientific, generations to come. Only the rich can afford, and its sad. I can’t remember ever being told that all the scientist in the country were products of millionaires, but now that might be our future because if you don’t make enough money to send your child to a private school a lot of future scientists are never going to see the inside of a science lab. We need to think again, no scientists to create a clean fuel, no scientist to cure diseases, no scientist to create safe energy, help to prevent global warming…it starts as a small seed of greed and infects the earth the planet we all live on so don’t think of it like it does not pertain to you because you live on the other side of the world,
because it does and it will. Even the teachers support these “budget cuts” because the board has “cut them in” by an increase in salary, and the fear of losing their unions, if they don’t just shut-up and put-up, and also the fear of the government steping in and testing the teachers to find out if they even know the material they are teaching the students, and by looking at the panic on their faces I’m assuming they don’t. The principal (Principal Buckler of Central Elementary) of my youngest child’s previous school stated to me, he didn’t even have past a 7th grade working knowledge of Science or Math, the whole time he is talking I’m noticing his expensive suit, the lavish office, the BMW he drove to work… he told me this Feb 14th of last year, and that opened my eyes to this is not an education game but rather a money game. School Officials should NOT be allow to elect themselves or each other,or draw up thier own salary and benefit plans, and healthcare plans, and if they would like to then I suggest they recieve no further money from the taxpayers then watch them fidget on no budget. http://www.theindychannel.com/education/29778307/detail.html (a website telling about the million dollar school offical, Terry Thompson)

What?

I’ve split these two posts out of another thread. I assume the first post in this thread was supposed to be an OP.

I think you assume wrong.

The post was made to this thread. Education was being discussed there, but I don’t see the OP as relevant to that thread topic.
