I’m in the UK and have been asked to send some back to the US within 3 days. What is the cheapest way to do so. Western Union? Express Mail with a personal check? Carrier pidgeon?

PayPal is the cheapest if both you and the recipient have accounts.

You might also want to check out xoom.com – they advertise as being substantially less expensive than Western Union.
